From the Sonic Protest website:
Angelicus is not the new avatar of the Norwegian black metal scene but the surprising association of four pillars of post-industrial music (the expression all-star band was invented for them, not for Ringo): Werner Zappi Diermaier (Faust), John Duncan, Dirk Dresselhaus (Schneider TM) and Ilpo Väisänen (Pan sonic)! That’s it! The latter two having been in the habit of blurring their rough and hypnotic drones within the duo Die Angel (formerly Angel) for about twenty years.
A crazy project therefore, born from a remote collaboration (COVID obliges) which is now developed live around Zappi’s kraut-noise rhythms and Ilpo and Dirk’s radical improvisations, the whole carried away by a John Duncan possessed to the bone, here in the role of the crooner/coroner of hell.
